I am ashamed to admit, there has not been much walking in the past week. Work has kept me extra busy, and when I have had time to take a lunch, Dave and I have had to run into the city for something or other.
That’s not to say I haven’t been getting exercise… I think moving that motorcycle was worth at least three days of walking! But it means I haven’t been out taking pictures of our weird and wonderful little town.
Happily, I do have some pictures saved up from previous walks.
Just past the middle of town, there’s a bridge that goes over a little ravine/hydro corridor. On the railings of that bridge, there are these:
Little metal bird houses with planter boxes below them. I’m pretty sure those planter boxes were full last summer, though for the life of me, I can’t remember what kind of plants they held. I’ll have to keep an eye on them and get new pictures for you when they are planted up again.
Regardless, I think it’s a fun little bit of whimsy in this quirky little town.
Wandering Cat Studio 
I love to see birdhouses. They remind me of my great grandmother’s house. She always had some in her yard. She also had a goldfish pond and a pump house that had a real hand cranked water pump from a well that I thought was the coolest thing ever. It’s hard to believe all that is now the middle of a big industrial area outside Washington DC. They tore the house down when we sold it. In just my lifetime things have sure changed-and none for the better it seems.

Attended a bird-watching seminar on Zoom last night, hosted by two regular guys who enjoy wandering around with their binoculars to watch our feathered friends. They discussed bird-feeders too, and the one’s you’ve posted are adorable!

I love the bird feeders with the planter boxes underneath. What a fabulous idea! I hope you’ll take pictures later once there are plants in the boxes!!

I love your quirky little town.
Our town decorates the bridge over the creek several times a year. I’ll have to get pictures this year. (Not as cute as your birdhouses, but not bad.)

The birdhouse are cute and dress up the ordinary bridge. Communities that add interesting details to the surroundings are special, in my opinion.

What fun little birdhouses. I think I would enjoy living in your quirky little town. I can just see lots of flowers growing out of those boxes and birds flying in and out. I would love to have bird houses too, but Dennis isn’t fond of them. Too much poo left on outdoor furniture in his opinion when we feed them.
