It’s March 1st. And that means that no matter what Mother Nature thinks… the first day of Spring is only 19 days away!
And while Lemmy was out enjoying the mostly melted catio, you can bet your bottom dollar that I was poking around what parts of the garden I could!

There are little green sprouts from bulbs coming up everywhere. I can’t tell what these ones are yet…but it doesn’t take much warmth for them to get going. I’ll be able to tell most of them apart soon enough.

I was VERY surprised to find a whole bunch of very green Sweet Pea vines. It must have been nice and toasty under the snow. These are perennial Sweet Peas, so they are hardier than the annual ones – and I guess that means they can grow under snow!

Another wonderful surprise was buds on the Hellebores! They need a little more warmth to grow tall and strong and shine like the beauties they are… but it’s a start.
Of course, we’ve had a couple more dustings of snow since then – and probably have more to come. But Spring is on its way. Nothing will stop it now!
