It may look like Lemmy is taking a moment to stop and smell the flowers… but really..

He was on a bee hunt. It might be hard to see, but that black mass inside the flower is a bumblebee butt!

Lemmy chases anything that moves in the catio, but he absolutely LOVES chasing the bees! Or at least he does for now… one of these days, he’s going to catch one. I don’t think he’ll like it quite so much then.
Mabel is the same way! It does look like Lemmy is smelling the flowers!

Ouch! That is going to be a big surprise.

Lemmy is just being scientific!
How do bumblebees fly?
They have big fat bodies, and wee little wings…it’s a mystery, and Lemmy wants to earn a Nobel Prize for Science some day.

Those are such cute photos! Let’s just hope the bees remain beyond Lemmy’s reach.

My young cat catches bees, thankfully he hasn’t been stung yet. He’s had a couple so far.

Those are such cute photos. I sure hope he doesn’t get stung. Our Chloe dog and Mandy’s Polly, both golden labs, both caught bees and got stung. It was NOT pretty at all. The swelling was awful. Lots of benedryl for them both. I was afraid their tongues or throat would swell but it stayed in the mouth and muzzle. Both of them are gone now and we miss them terribly, but….we have Zoey. She tries to catch EVERYTHING. At 2:30 this morning she wanted out and we have to take her on a leash here at the condo. She was jumping in the air trying to catch moths! Also on her list of favorite things to “try” to catch are birds, bunnies, squirrels and bees. 🙂
Blessings,
Betsy

At least the first sting will most likely be his last; he is a smart kitty!
