I mentioned in a post long ago, the Lemmy is a wee bit of a hellion.
He LOVES knocking stuff off tables, and anything not secured or too heavy to push with a paw is fair game – though little things are his favourite: nail clippers, stitch markers, pens, pill bottles, etc.
But his other favourite thing is DESTROYING anything paper or cardboard. We knew he had this tendency right from the start – last December I bought him a little cardboard cat house and he just mutilated it.
I was actually thinking about getting him a new one the other day but…

I mean – why spend $30 on a cardboard cat house when he’s content to destroy a $1.50 box of tissues? The kicker though… that box wasn’t originally in the bedroom. He grabbed it from the living room – and brought it all the way up the stairs so he could demolish it on the bedroom floor? Why? I have NO idea.
I don’t think he has an idea why either…
Oh Lemmy. You little rascal. But you couldn’t be any cuter. We had a cat named George that we said was a kleptomaniac. At night he would wander the house and find small shiney things. Coins, watches, flashdrives, pens. He would push them under the door to the coat closet by the front door. We used to say he was collecting things for his fence! lol I sure miss George. He was the BEST cat ever.
Blessings,
Betsy

That’s an aggressive chewer! You’ve got your very own trash compactor…lol. Daughter has a table knocker. She can’t put anything on any table or it will come crashing down. Needless to say she’s adopted a very minimalist style of decor.

We read a few dog blogs too and are amazed at how many times a new expensive toy is given a pupper and it is destroyed in minutes. Why keep that up? (Plus the danger of swallowing chunks of such a toy.) We agree with giving Lemmy an inexpensive substitute. Maybe he’ll outgrow the habit…

Giroux likes to chew cardboard or paper too. He didn’t start right in on his Halloween house last years, but eventually he took one bite and that was the end of the story. At least we could salvage the scratchers that were inside.
Lemmy is too, too cute! You know the baby of the family is always, ALWAYS the mischievious one. LOL

Sorry, but I just think this is delightful!

What a character!!! Fortunately, I have never had a cat that was interested in shredding or chewing cardboard. Sometimes, there is just no rhyme or reason to their habits.

But he’s a sweet hellion! That’s got to count for something? Our youngest pup will destroy any paper he finds in a trash can. He won’t bother things on the furniture, just if it’s in the trash can?

Our kitty likes to pull kleenex out of the box and chew it into little balls that she spits out. People wonder why all of our kleenex boxes are upside down with the tissues tucked inside.
Be sure to check out kmkat & her kneedles for today’s Furry Friday and the operating room picture.
