Well… here it is…

Dad’s finished birthday sweater. I started in on June 1, 2022, intending it to be for his birthday last year. That, of course, didn’t happen. But I finally pushed and finished it on November 26 of this year. So, one-and-a-half years of not-so-steady knitting.
The pattern is Southwood. It’s a basic top down raglan – lots of sizes (child to adult) and very easy to follow. It’s a free pattern too.
The yarn is Patons Classic Wool in a pretty, light grey/white marl.

Simple, classic, and very warm. I’ve still got a fair bit left, so there will probably be some hats and such as some point. But not for a while. I’ve had enough of grey for now.
It’s beautiful Val! I know how much work a sweater is, especially a man’s sweater. I have two more cardigans to make for Miss Piper and then maybe I’ll make Dennis another one. He wears the ones I’ve made him quite often.
I know your Dad is going to really appreciate that beautiful sweater.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

A beautiful finish Val and thanks for the link to the pattern. I’m thinking that C&M may like sweaters (some day…LOL).

A round of applause!
The colours are too blase’ for you; you like BRIGHT.
However, since it’s for your Pop, you’ve got to work with something that you’ll know he’ll like, and I’m betting he’s gonna LURV this.
Good on you, Val!

Congrats! That is a great sweater. I made one like it for my dad years ago and I took it back after he passed. I wear it all the time. Paton’s wool is great for the money. It wears like iron and is very comfortable.
