Tiny Needle Tuesday

Normally, I knit on the week day evenings, and save the cross stitching for weekend evenings. But Burton and I are switching gears and cross stitching on the weeknights now…

At the end of the month, I’ll be headed to our nation’s capitol (Ottawa). It’s a short trip that will be mix of business and pleasure, but while there, I’m going to be meeting a person I’ve only known through the computer and a video screen (i.e. Zoom).

She’s a wonderful person, and I’d like to take her a little gift, so I’m stitching something up…

One of her favourite things to say when you ask her how her day is “The birds are singing… the sun is shining… it’s going to be a good day! So I spent a few hours looking for the perfect little bird-themed project I could stitch up in just over a week. So far, it’s progressing well, which is great, because my deadline is January 29th. I’m on a plane on the 30th. It’s doable, but I’ve got to keep at it!

And did you see my little needle keeper?

He was a gift from Mom and I love him so much!

First, I am in love with your embroidery scissors. Then that project-adorable. Then that needle minder! Wowza so much to love.
I spent my honeymoon in Ottawa with my first husband. It was a lovely old city 50 years ago. Best Chinese food I’d ever eaten. We canoe camped through the Algonquin State Park for a week before we got there and I was so glad to be back in civilization. Moose are BIG and bears are scary.

That is going to be such a nice gift. The gnome needle holder is so perfect for you. Not only is it a very cute gnome (great colors) but there are flowers also. Hope your stitching goes quickly.
