The other day, Dave need to go to Home Depot to get a piece of pipe. And like Wal-mart, Home Depot has become a danger zone for me. They’ve started carrying a pretty good selection of house plants. Unlike Walmart, HD’s plants are usually on the pricey side so it’s easier to resist. Except when they are on clearance!!!!

Those giant orchids were only $10. I was having trouble deciding between the colours… and Dave said “Why not get both?!?”

I certainly wasn’t going to argue with that. I’m pretty sure I already have both these colours, though in smaller versions. But I don’t mind, I just love orchids!
I’m almost positive I already have this particular colour of violet…(like the orchids, I have several)

But it was only $2 and the very last one. I just had to bring it home. Besides, it’s hard to resist a violet in bloom.
And you may have noticed that pile of pots on the table with the plants in the first picture. I need to do some repotting of quite a few of my smaller succulents, so I picked up some small terra cotta pots at the dollar store.

These will of course be painted up with some fun designs as soon as I can find some time.
As will these.

I found them next door to the Dollar Store at Michaels. They are technically kid’s projects, but why should they have all the fun? They come with little paint pots, but they aren’t great quality, and probably aren’t enough anyway so I’m going to use my acrylics.
So…. how do I go about getting more hours in the day…
Always a new project on the horizon!

What great finds!!! Orchids scare me but that sweet little violet would have come home with me for sure. Those pots look like fun. I’ve never seen kits like that.

I have an idea! You need to retire like Vera at The Threaded Lane! More time to do the things you want to do. 🙂 I kind of want a new orchid. Mine hasn’t rebloomed like it did last year. Do they take a year off of blooming. My violet is doing well though no flowers yet. Your new one is such a pretty pink.
Blessings, and hugs,
Betsy

You’re a kid at heart, right? Have fun with that project. I have much better luck with violets than orchids. None of the orchids we had lasted long sadly.
