Tiny Needle Tuesday

As is now our custom, Sir Furbs and I settled in to work on our witches this weekend. While the first part of the sky went quicky, for some reason, that last little bit was a total slog…

Eventually we got through it, but it took its toll on poor Furby! And after that, we still had to do two solid rows across the top, then some 2 x 2 checkerboard

We almost got the checkerboard done, but not quite! Still, the hardest slog is done. We’ll be onto those letters soon. But not this coming weekend. As long as the weather holds, I’m off to Mom’s to do some quilting! I can’t wait!

That’s a lot of stitching! Good thing you have such a fabulous helper. It’s looking good and you are on the final stretch now (I think).

  2. The project is looking great.

Furby sure is a handsome boy. With as snuggly he is, you KNOW he had to have a home sometime in the past. Do you think someone just dumped him?

    1. He did have a home – it was two doors down from us.

The story we were told (by another neighbour) is that he was beating on their other two cats so they kicked him out. Apparently they put food out for him, but only one small can once a day – and if you look back at the pics when he first started hanging around – he wasn’t getting it or they stopped.

At first, we couldn’t believe that he could be a mean cat. He got along with a couple other neighbourhood cats (Fryburger who lives directly across from us) and Louis (the stray). All three would hang out in the driveway together all the time. And when we first brought him in – he mostly ignored our crew. He just wanted to be loved by the people!

But… over the last month he’s obviously gotten more comfortable. And there have been quite a few dust ups. Mostly between him and Lemmy. And to be honest, Lemmy USUALLY starts it. But once locked in, Furby is relentless. And now it’s gotten to the point where Lemmy can’t run by Furby without Furby giving chase.

Even Burton is a little afraid of Furby. They had a really good fight the other week and poor Burt has a nasty slash up his side.

I think part of the problem is that Furby isn’t getting outside right now either (he doesn’t like the snow – looks out the door and turns around and goes to my chair to sleep), so he has a lot of energy to burn off and he’s taking it out on the boys.

The only one not really bothered (oddly enough) is Rupert. Rupert LOVES to be chased – and he’s faster than Furby and always gets under something before Furby can catch him.

I ordered some pheromone collars from Amazon, and they have calmed things down a fair bit. Lemmy still has to start stuff – but we’ve only had one fight between Furby and Burton -it was over my chair and it wasn’t too bad.

I’m confident with some time, it will all calm down. They might not be best friends, but I think eventually there will be peace again.

Poor Furby is exhausted. You made a lot of progress and my eyes hurt just thinking about it! 🙂 I know you’re looking forward to going to your Moms. You’ll have so much fun together.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
