In my younger days, I was never much worried about making the bed. But now that I make quilts, I make the bed much more often. What’s the point in having a beautiful quilt, if you’re never going to see it because it’s all bunched up in a pile?
So… now, most days, I make the bed at some point during the day (it’s not always first thing in the morning… I’m not THAT crazy). On these days, we almost always end up playing a little game I like to call, “Where’s Rupert?”

Can you guess? It’s kind of like playing Where’s Waldo, but way easier.

As you know, he loves to nest. But that’s hard to do when the bed is made. So now, he waits until I leave the room. Then he pulls the edge of the blanket down over himself to make his own little hidey hole!
What a cat!
That is so sweet. That was one of the very few things we were taught as children needed to be done Every. Single. Day. It’s carried with me into adulthood. Dennis too. The bed is made as soon as we’re both out of it.
Blessings,
Betsy

Your quilt is beautiful.
Giroux does the same thing. He loves getting buried deep within the pile of bedding.

Cute photo of Rupert and beautiful quilt! I play a variation of that game each morning with one of my cats. She also likes to attack my hand when I slide it under the quilt. It’s sometimes challenging to get the bed made with a 17 lb. furball in the middle of it.

I remember hating making my bed as a kid, but as an adult, a made-up bed makes climbing in and falling asleep so much easier.

My oldest pup loves to be made into the bed. He gets on the bed while I am changing sheets and gets under the fitted one and we tuck it all in. Then we scratch the sheet and he tries to get our hands. He loves this game. Rupert is just adorable in his hidey hole.
