The next sock

Knitting time is limited, but I like to keep something on the needles for when I have a spare moment.

This is more Wollmiese, the other stripe yarn left over from Paisley cardigan. It’s a dark magenta that reminds me a lot of pickled beets. I don’t actually like pickled beets, but they were a staple in my house growing up – and they are a pretty colour.

The pattern is my Mr. Dress-up pattern. Like other sock patterns I’ve been choosing lately, it’s a pattern that’s not so complicated I can’t memorize it and work on it in small amounts; but also busy enough to keep it interesting. I don’t think these will fly off the needles like Woodland Walk did – but it’s hard to say. It all depends on how quickly things move along at the new house.

That is such a beautiful color! The socks will be wonderful. I grew up eating picked beets with mashed potatoes. As kids, my brother and I had fun with beet juice coloring the potatoes. I imagine you will be doing a lot of juggling the next few weeks. Good luck!

Where my DH grew up pickled beets included hard-boiled eggs! I like your yarn color, and the pattern looks like fun; that chart on the Woodland Walk socks threw me off for awhile, but I finally figured it our. Those socks sure aren’t flying off my needles though.

  3. Love that pattern and yarn color. I also like beets but NOT the pickled ones. 🙂
We finally have all of our stuff here. Now to unpack. I finally had the house in some semblance of order before I went back to Spokane and the POD arrived as well as a fully packed pick-up, inside and out.
Wishing you a lovely day and take time for breaks. Very, very important.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
