The never-ending poncho has FINALLY come to an end.
And I’m not 100% in love with it. I have a tendency to fall in love with styles that look really good on tall, willowy women.
I’m not short by any means, but my curves are more than ample… I’m more gnarly stump and lithe willow. My Mom said it looks great… but Mom’s are like that.
It’s 100% cotton, so it is quite nice to wear, and has a decent drape. I’m going to wear it a few times and see if I fall more in love with it. I put a lot of time into it, so I’ve got to give it a bit of a chance. If my feelings don’t change, I think Samantha may be getting a new poncho for trailer nights around the camp fire.
Still.. even if I don’t keep it, two good things came out of it:
1) I used up almost all of that yarn and got it out of the stash, which feels good, and
2) I bought those boots this fall specifically to wear with the poncho….
And boy do I love those boots! I’ve worn them almost every day since I bought them. I’m trying to stop myself from buy a second pair in black
There’s always a silver lining! Plus… I never have to work on that darn poncho ever again! On to better things….
CONGRATS!! I think it looks great. I do love a poncho. I bought one with my first paycheck when I was 14 and still have it although it is now just a rag, I am not tall and thin either but I think I looked pretty darn cute in it. And those boots are to die for. I think I’d have to have a black pair too.

YAY! Congratulations! I think it looks great on you too. And, I love the color. I’m not a big poncho lover by any means – I’ve had a few, but haven’t ever been that comfortable in them. The boots are great and definitely a black pair is in order!

How nice to have it in the closet instead of on the needles! Hooray!

It’s lovely! I think it looks nice on you, particularly since it’s a rectangle instead of triangular.
But – having said that, if you don’t enjoy wearing it, you should give it to someone who will. 🙂

Well done; the poncho is terrific!
Us curvy women always have to negotiate something, don’t we?

Just beautiful!!! It does look good on you and the color works well with your complexion and hair color. Those boots are just the icing on the cake. The poncho, faded jeans and boots are a great combination. I think you are going to end up loving the poncho. Congratulations on such an awesome finish!

You are too hard on yourself Val. That is a masterpiece and it looks amazing on you. The boots are perfect too. Try it with a long skirt, in black maybe?

Congratulations on the big finish; it’s great to get a major project off the needles! I think it’s cute, but I think I’d like it to be the star of the show. I’d probably wear black or dark brown underneath it, so the poncho color can be the center of attention. And THOSE BOOTS. Of course you need a pair in black, too!
