On the weekend, I turned my attention to making more of those pretty parrot blocks. Once I got going, I got pretty good at them. I could turn out a pair in pretty short order. I got to the point where I could put them together with barely a glance at the instructions.
And before I knew it, all 10 were done!

As you can see, they got sewn together, and then a strip of the light blue background fabric sewn to the top. Now the quilt is almost done!
The above panel you see is about 60″ wide x 14″ tall. It will make up the top portion of the quilt. The bottom will be all one fabric.

This beautiful leafy green batik you see on the bottom right. The rainbow flower batik will be the binding, and those colourful dots the back!
It’s a fairly simple design, but I think it’s going to be a stunning one when it’s all together!

Burton, however, would like me to give all these bird-themed projects a rest though… I guess I better go hunt in the stash for some cat fabric!
Fabulous fabrics Val! That will be a stunner of a quilt!!

That is so beautiful and will be a wonderful quilt for the charity. How kind of you to make it. I really like all of the bright colors. Burton doesn’t want to lose any of those beautiful birds! 🙂

It is so beautiful and at the same times gives me a such heart ache. I miss my parrot so much. It’s been two years now and I still have to have a good cry over her now and again. I miss her soft feather cuddles and the constant conversation. She would have been such a good friend during all this isolation. All those birdie hearts you are making are just so perfect. They do steal your heart.

Beautiful fabrics and parrots. I wondered if there was more to the block when you showed your first parrot. The hearts they form when together adds to the design. It will be a stunning quilt.

That top panel is just awesome!!! It is going to be a remarkable quilt. The fabrics are perfect. The leafy green is going to give the impression of tree leaves. What a great donation for your friend.
