Stitching the days away

It’s been a very quiet Christmas for us (I’ll detail it all tomorrow), so there has been lots of time for stitching.

Most of my stitching time has been devoted to the hemlock ring. And as a result, I now have a very unexciting giant blue blob…

In fact, it’s so big that it’s getting hard to work with on the 40″ circular needle I have it on. I’ve just ordered a 60″, and hopefully it won’t take too long to get here. Each repeat is only five rounds long, and I’m only about three or four repeats from finishing. Of course, those rounds are REALLY long… but still.. the end is in sight, and I’m itchy to finish!

While I wait on the post, I have a pair of socks on the needles to keep me busy. I cast them on for travel knitting, but they’ve been so much fun, I’ve snuck in a few rounds here and there just for fun.

It’s more Knit Picks Stroll and the colour is Koi Pond. I’ve seen a few of you knit with this particular colour, and I just had to have it. One of my hopes is to one day put a koi pond in the yard. I don’t know if it will ever happen, but for now I can knit on these and dream!

What are you stitching on these days?

  1. Can’t wait to see that gorgeous blanket!! Koi Pond is one of my favorite colors from KnitPicks. I’ve knit fingerless mitts from it and Mailing actually had socks on Christmas Day that I had knit with the koi pond colorway. I’m still working on my holiday socks…haven’t done much knitting at all, but perhaps today.

I’ve got Koi Pond in my stash and it’s so pretty in the skein I never use it.
I’ve got a sweater sleeve to finish but it’s in Lopi and it’s been so warm here I can’t pick it up. I can’t touch the woolly wool when it’s over 40 degrees. Not sure why but I can’t so it’s sitting here staring me down wondering why in December it’s not being worked on. Tell it to Mother Nature.

I finally made some of the gnomes from a kit I got from you ages ago! Still 2 to go though. And thanks for your Glinda pattern; I love the way those mitts turn out. Thanks for a great pattern! Happy 2022!

I think that blanket is going to be wonderful and enjoyed so much this winter. Love the color of yarn you are using for the socks. Hope they are for you.

  5. The Hemlock Ring is going to be a beauty. I had to order a 60” cable when I worked on a big project. It will make knitting on the beast so much easier. I hope it arrives soon. Koi Pond is making a fabulous sock.
